1 packet of tempeh, sliced (approximately 7mm width) Marinade 2 Tbsp soy sauce or tamari 2 tablespoons ketch-up 2 tablespoons maple syrup 1 tablespoon olive oil 1/4 tsp hot sauce, or to taste 1/2 tsp liquid smoke or smoked paprika (or more to taste)
Mix the marinade ingredients together in a small bowl and pour into a frypan. Heat until the mixture is simmering. Reduce the heat and arrange the tempeh slices in a single layer. Cook the tempeh until all the marinade has been absorbed, turning once.
marinating the tempeh in the marinade for up to 8 hours before cooking enhances the texture and flavour. Can also be made with tofu.
