Animals & Us

Animals & Us is a groundbreaking education initiative provided by SAFE. They provide resources on animal issues for teachers and students in New Zealand secondary schools.  Each textbook contains a selection of lessons and resources ready for classroom and individual study.

Plant Based Nutrition

Evidence Based Eating is a New Zealand website that advocates the health and wellbeing of the people of New Zealand through a wholefood plant based diet.  They present lectures around the country that are popular with GPs and anyone interested in the evidence behind a Whole Food Plant Based (WFPB) way of eating.  See their website for this year’s lecture series.

One Healthy WorldThousands of people have signed up for this free online program, which focuses on improving health and combating chronic diseases.  Join expert doctors and dietitians from around the world, featuring classes in multiple languages, extensive resources, and hundreds of dietitian-approved recipes. 

Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate

The Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate is offered in partnership with the prestigious online education provider, eCornell ~ Cornell University’s online learning platform.
The course is based on the groundbreaking research of Dr T. Colin Campbell, author of The China Study, and includes lectures from 20+ leading experts.  You receive a certificate from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies and eCornell.  Six week course with 5/7 hours per week expected.  Start dates throughout the year.

A Guide to Vegan Nutrition

A Guide to Vegan Nutrition by George Eisman, is a study book that can be ordered online.  You study in your own time and take the test at the end of each unit.  An in-depth, yet easy to grasp study of all aspects of nutrition.

Animal Evac NZ Foundation Course

Animal Evac New Zealand (Kararehe Whakawatea) is a charity comprised volunteers throughout New Zealand who can assist emergency services and civil defence with the evacuation of animals, and to provide initial temporary sheltering in an emergency or disaster. Though there is a primary focus on companion animals, Animal Evac works to advocate for all animals that are vulnerable or affected by disasters. So that no animal is left behind.

The Animal Evan New Zealand foundation course is a 9-hour workshop aimed at anyone involved in helping animals in emergencies.  Other courses include Sheltering Course, Dog Bite Prevention and PrepVet (This course is fully online and available to anyone interested in animal and veterinary disaster management).

Sustainable Vegan Advocacy

The Center for Effective Vegan Advocacy teaches a multi-module course so you can learn how to significantly increase your impact as a vegan without burnout.  Run by Dr. Melanie Joy ~ psychologist, educator, international speaker, organizational consultant, and relationship coach. She is the author of six books, including the award-winning Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs, and Wear CowsBeyond Beliefs: A Guide to Improving Relationships and Communication for Vegans, Vegetarians, and Meat EatersGetting Relationships RightStrategic Action for Animals; and The Vegan Matrix.
The course is full price just US $25 or half price or FREE offers, to remain inclusive to all who want to learn.
